Man Severely Injured After Scaffolding Hits Power Lines, Knocking Him Down 4 Stories
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Authorities say a 27-year-old man is in critical condition after scaffolding he was standing on came into contact with power lines, knocking him four-stories to the ground.
Police say two men were doing subcontracting work on a building on the 1500 block of N. 16th Street in North Philadelphia Monday morning.
Authorities say while the men were on the scaffolding, it hit some power lines, knocking one of the men onto the ground four stories below.
Police say the victim who fell suffered severe burns and massive internal injuries.
Authorities say the second male did not fall, but suffered burns to his forearm and hands after he came into contact with the first victim.
Police say both men were rushed to Temple University Hospital.
Authorities say the man who fell is in extremely critical condition. The second male is listed in stable condition.
L&I and PECO are on the scene investigating.
Police say OSHA has also been notified of the incident.
