Police Investigate After Man Found Dead On Holmesburg Sidewalk

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Philadelphia Police are investigating the death of man they found dead on the sidewalk in the city's Holmesburg section.

Police say the body was found on Thursday night on the 8000 block of Frankford Avenue.

Authorities say they were called to the scene for an unresponsive man, but they realized when they arrived that the person had suffered trauma to the front and back of the head. There were surveillance cameras in the area.

After reviewing footage from an outside camera, police said that three people were seen dragging the victim from inside a building around 6:15 p.m., leaving him at the point where he was discovered dead.

Officials add that there was a camera in the building as well that was covered by a cloth.
