Man Charged in Murder of Logan Laundromat Owner

Philadelphia homicide detectives on Wednesday announced the arrest of a suspect whom they believe is responsible for two separate murders this month.

KYW's Al Novack reports that 51-year-old Siegfried Moore (above) of North Philadelphia was taken into custody and charged with the murder of 53-year-old laundromat owner Huan Mo (see related story) two weeks ago.

Police allege that Moore stabbed Mo to death on August 11th during a robbery as she was closing up her family-owned laundromat located in the 4700 block of North 15th Street, in the city's Logan section.
Moore is also charged with stabbing a 19-year-old man to death on August 4th in the 4800 block of North Camac Street.
KYW's Tony Hanson reports that a trail of blood -- and DNA -- led police to the killer.
Homicide unit Captain James Clarke says that defendant Siegfried Moore murdered 19-year-old Devaughn Smith back on August 4th, but Smith struggled and managed to stab Moore.
Moore sought treatment but was still out on the street when, Capt. Clarke says, Moore struck a second time:
"Both the cases were robberies. Both of the decedants tried to fight back. And in both cases they lost their lives because of it."
Police gathered evidence at the bloody scenes, and a tip led to Moore, who was back in the hospital being treated for the stab wound. DNA from the defendant was matched to DNA at both crime scenes, and both victims' blood was found on his sneakers.
