Man Arrested For Allegedly Stealing Metal Driveway Gutter Plates In Delaware
NEW CASTLE, Del. (CBS) – Police in Delaware have arrested a suspect for allegedly stealing five metal gutter driveway plates.
John R. Flamer Jr., 31, is facing three counts of felony thefts and other charges for his alleged role in the stealing of the gutter plates on November 8th.
Back on November 8th, police were called around 9:00 a.m. by a resident who observed a man stealing her driveway gutter grate on Casimir Drive.
When the resident asked the suspect what he was doing, he replied that he was "replacing" the grate, and then drove away in pick-up truck.
Later that morning, four other Casimir Drive residents reported to police that their metal grates were also stolen that day. The grates are valued at approximately $100 each.
Following a month-long investigation, police arrested Flamer Jr. and charged him with three counts of Felony Theft due to those victims being over the age of 62 and two additional counts of Theft.
He is being held on $1,300 bail at the Young Correctional Institute pending a preliminary hearing.
