Malcolm Jenkins Ranked As NFL's Best Safety Through 8 Weeks
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Malcolm Jenkins has been the heart and soul of the Philadelphia Eagles on and off the field and now he's starting to get some national recognition.
According to Pro Football Focus, which develops grades on NFL players based on every single play of every game, ranks Jenkins at the best safety in football.
Jenkins has 43 total tackles, three forced fumbles, one fumble recovery, and one interception in seven games.
Furthermore, opposite of Jenkins is Walter Thurmond, who comes in at eighth on PFF's safety rankings list. Thurmond has three interceptions already this season.
The Eagles and New England Patriots are the only teams with both safeties among the top-eight overall.
Former Eagles safety Patrick Chung surprisingly ranks seventh on the list for the Pats, while another former Eagle---Kurt Coleman of the Carolina Panthers---comes in at 10th on the list.
