Local Bars Prepare For Massive Thanksgiving Eve Crowds
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - Area bars and taverns are bracing for big crowds tonight.
It's just about busiest night of the year for bar owners, second only to New Years Eve. The night before Thanksgiving is a chance for college students to reconnect with old friends and others to simply get a jump on the long weekend.
"Everybody's off work Thursday. So anybody older to young, college kids, just the whole gamut. People get a chance to go out that night and have a good time."
Marshall Young, General Manager of Mad River in Olde City, plans on hosting one of the bigger parties in town.
"The theme this year is called "Raging Thanksgiving Eve". We do it up real big on a night like this so we're gonna have two DJ's. They're gonna be battling back and forth."
In addition to lots of drink specials and a Pocahontas costume contest. I'm pretty sure that's for the women but, hey you never know on a night like this.
