Lilly Pulitzer Taking Heat For Fat-Shaming Cubicle Cartoons

PHILADELPHIA (AP) — The floral-inspired Lilly Pulitzer fashion house is trying to nip concerns about fat-shaming in the bud.

Cartoons posted in a cubicle at its headquarters near Philadelphia suggest little tolerance for the "fat, white and hideous."

But a company spokeswoman said Wednesday the postings in a private workspace do not reflect the company's point of view.

They were spotted by a photographer doing a New York Magazine profile of the company.

One cartoon shows a barrel-shaped woman in a bikini saying "Put it Down CARB FACE" while another shows a woman in street clothes with the "fat, white and hideous" caption. Online critics have rebuked Lilly Pulitzer for the messages.

The preppy fashion label recently came under fire for not including plus sizes in a woman's line sold in Target stores.
