Library Patrons Get Surprise Treat From Members Of Dance Philadelphia Argentine Tango

By Hadas Kuznits

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - Folks at the Free Library of Philadelphia were treated to some surprise performances by members of Dance Philadelphia Argentine Tango.

"I just kind of looked up and there was music and there were people twirling around on the floor! So yes, it was a great surprise. I'm not quite sure what's going on," said one patron.

"Well, the whole event is organized around a reading and presentation of the book Tango Nuevo by Caroline Merrit," explains Meredith Klein, director of the Philadelphia Argentine Tango School.

Klein says Tango is an improvisational dance."The interesting thing is that you're on the dance floor and you don't know what's going to happen a half second from now!"

Reporter: "A little more culture than you bargained for?"

"Yes! He came for Science In The Summer and so we were just kind of hanging out and got a nice little bonus," said a woman at the library with her son.
