KYW "Down The Shore" -- Hitting the Skee-Ball Bullseye

by KYW's Donna Francavilla --

Any kid -- or former kid -- who's spent time at the Jersey shore knows about that arcade bowling game called Skee-Ball.

Now here's something you probably didn't know:  Skee-Ball was invented by a Philadelphian more than 100 years ago.

And while Skee-Ball is still popular,  Rose Uniglicht says it has more competition these days:

"For kids, that's no challenge anymore. They want video things. They don't want Skee-Ball. To me, when I was a kid, Skee-Ball was the biggest thing.  And it was a dime!  I would just play it all day. But things change."

Larry and Rose Uniglicht say that playing Skee-Ball is still a great Jersey shore pastime.
