Knee-Jerk Reactions: Eagles Lose, Season Over
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- What a disgusting, abysmal, atrocious season. One of the most disappointing Philadelphia sports teams I can remember -- worse than the 2012 "Dream Team."
- You can't win -- no. You can't PLAY football with players who can't catch. You just can't.
- An endless amount of drops (I think the total was nine), BIG drops, touchdown-scoring potential drops.
- Nelson Agholor dropped a touchdown, Riley Cooper dropped a 40-yard pass, Josh Huff dropped a wide-open slant for a first down, DeMarco Murray dropped a toss -- which resulted in a Washington fumble-six, Zach Ertz dropped about three balls and fumbled.
- Darren Sproles even muffed a punt.
- Ertz is the most overrated player on the Eagles.
- I don't care if he had 100 catches tonight. His drops and fumbles are inexcusable.
- The offensive line stunk.
- Jason Peters looks done.
- Jason Kelce, no idea what happened to him.
- Ryan Mathews got progressively worse as the season went on.
- Sam Bradford? He played well, threw the ball well -- minus one or two throws -- but had to deal with poor o-line play and atrocious, garbage receiver play.
- Billy Davis, I would guess, will be fired shortly after the season.
- Another poor defensive season from a team with defensive talent.
- Remember how excited we were about the linebackers before the season?
- Mychal Kendricks and Kiko Alonso were horrendous this season.
- On a positive note, CB E.J. Biggers had a nice game in coverage starting for the injured Byron Maxwell.
- And Fletcher Cox is a beast, still.
- They'll have to pay Fletch soon.
- Now what?
- Who the heck knows.
- While Chip is going to get crushed for the season -- and deservedly so -- he'll be back for at least another year.
- Will Bradford? Will Murray? What they heck are they going to do a WR?
- I don't have answers, and frankly, it's painful to even think about right now on December 26th.
- What a sad, frustrating, awful season. See ya later, 2015 Eagles football.
