Jordan Hicks Ranked Among Top NFL 'Breakout Prospects'
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Every year new players breakout in the NFL and become stars.
ESPN.com ranked their top 25 breakout prospects for 2016 and there was one Philadelphia Eagles player on the list: second-year linebacker Jordan Hicks. Hicks was ranked as the sixth most likely breakout candidate.
"Hicks played an immediate role for the Eagles, with the highest run-stop rate among all linebackers on the team last year," Rivers McCown wrote for ESPN.com. "Going forward, he projects as a true three-down linebacker."
In eight games as a rookie with the Eagles, Hicks tallied 42 tackles, two interceptions (one for a touchdown), three fumble recoveries, one forced fumble, and a sack.
Hicks' only question, as noted by McCown, is his health. Dating back to his time at Texas, three of Hicks' last four seasons have been cut short due to season-ending injuries.
