Merriam-Webster Considers Adding 'Jawn' To The Dictionary

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) --  Merriam-Webster says Jawn is on the list of words they are watching!

They say the word, Jawn, unique to Philly is a word they are increasingly seeing used that has not yet met their criteria for entry.

Merriam-Webster describes it as "the Philadelphia all-purpose noun."

Of course, we know "jawn" can refer to just about anything.

Chances Of Hitting A Deer In Pennsylvania Have Increased 

After getting the news, the city of Philadelphia tweeted out.

"We don't need a dictionary telling us what we already know to be true... Jawn is a versatile jawn."

Heading To A Movie? AMC Offering Members Tickets For $5 

That jawn seems to have the support of higher-learning, with the University of Pennsylvania tweeting, "We accept this jawn."

It seems like we're all in consensus. The word has even been mentioned on the big screen.
