Jackson ruptures Achilles

Exactly 83 days after the Philadelphia Eagles signed free agent safety Marlin Jackson to a 2 year deal, the injury prone veteran ruptured his achilles tendon, likely ending his season, and possibly his career. The extent of the injury is unknown. His status will be updated later in the week.

The injury occured at team OTA's during 7 on 7 drills at the Novacare complex. Entering his 1st season with the Birds, Jackson was still recovering from a torn ligament in his right knee he suffered in the '09 season. The Eagles signed the free agent to a 2 year deal back in March which was full of incentives, exactly for this reason.

With the loss of Jackson, Rookie Nate Allen moves up from 2nd team to 1st team. Full team OTA's run thru June 10th.
