Hundreds Support PSPCA At Summer Block Party

By Justin Udo

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - The Pennsylvania SPCA hosted its 2nd annual Peace & Love Summer Block Party Saturday.

The event offered activities for animal lovers young and old.

Hundreds packed in and around the PSPCA on East Erie Avenue for a chance to adopt a new pet or get a discounted vaccine for theirs.

"I'm an animal lover," said Dyshon Harris, who came out Saturday with his parents. "My favorite animal is dogs and I want one real bad!"

Ken Mulholland and his sons came out to take advantage of some of the other services.

"We're just getting the kittens shots," Ken said. But his sons had other plans:

"I like seeing the puppies."

The event offered a half priced vaccine clinic, 25-percent off all premium surgery packages as well as a food tent and free face painting.
