Hundreds Participate in Rainy Bike Ride Across Phila.
The Philadelphia Bike Coalition had expected thousands of bicyclists to take part in a giant bike ride but rain trimmed the turnout a bit. Police estimated the turnout at the start of the event to 700-800 bicyclists.
KYW's Al Novack reports it wasn't the crowd that the bike coalition had hoped for but nevertheless, the bikers, who did show up had fun and showed that streets in center city can provide a safe environment for cyclists.
The bike loops used in the event provided participants with a ride through some of the nicest and most historic sections of town.
