Governor Wolf Orders Flags At Half-Staff In Honor Of Dallas Fallen Officers

Harrisburg, PA (CBS) – In memory of the fallen Dallas Police Officers, Governor Tom Wolf has ordered for flags to fly at half-staff.

The flags in the Capitol Complex and at all commonwealth facilities statewide will be lowered until the interment of all five officers.

The Democratic Governor released a statement on Friday addressing the tragic incident.

"I'm greatly saddened by the horrific acts of violence that have taken place over the past several days. We have to ask ourselves, is this the type of country we want? I believe the answer is no."

He continued on to say that there was no justification for people to live in fear because of the color of their skin, and their is no justification to attack cops who keep civilians safe.

On Thursday, July 7, 2015 five officers were killed and a total of 12 officers and two civilians were shot following a peaceful protest in Dallas.

The attack was considered the deadliest assault on police since 9/11.

All Pennsylvanians are invited to participate in this tribute.
