Give The Devil His Due
Whether you like Michael Vick or hate him, you can't deny that the Eagles offense came alive when he came on in place of Kevin Kolb in the birds 27-20 loss to the Green Bay Packers. Vick not only passed for 175 yards (16/24 and 1 TD) but ran for 103 in 11 attempts as well.
Now if you're the Eagles, what do you do when Kolb comes back? You trade Michael Vick that's what you do. They didn't go through all the trouble of drafting Kolb and trading Donovan McNabb to have a quarterback controversy. We all know that Michael Vick will be gone next year. We now know that he can play at a high level in the NFL. We don't know how long Kevin Kolb will be out, but we do know that he will be the starter once he comes back. This is Kolb's team regardless of what Vick does. If Vick continues to play well in Kolb's absence, his trade value will never be higher. When you look at teams like Buffalo who had a chance to beat the Dolphins but couldn't do it with Trent Edwards, or the Cardinals who almost lost to the Rams with Derek Anderson behind center, the Eagles should have no problem finding a place for the man who's NFL soul they redeemed. It would also never be easier for a team to welcome Vick when he comes in on a roll. As for the Michael Vick package in the Eagles offense, If Kolb's good enough to start, then he's good enough to play all 4 downs
