Giants Safety Antrel Rolle Picks Eagles To Finish Third In Division

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Last week, Giants safety Antrel Rolle was on ESPN's First Take and he ranked the NFC East teams. Unsurprisingly, Rolle ranked his Giants first. However, surprisingly, Rolle ranked the Eagles third behind the Redskins.

"I think if you have the right defensive scheme against the Eagles, you can definitely shut them down," Rolle said about the Eagles on ESPN's First Take. "I think we displayed that in the second game we played them. As far as Washington, I think Washington has more weapons, and I think they added more weapons, especially to the offensive system. I think RGIII will definitely bounce back and have a better season this year. And defensively, I think they've added a lot of veteran leadership to their defense that's gonna help them out a whole lot."

Rolle had six interceptions and 80 total tackles playing in all 16 games for the Giants last season. That 'second game' against the Eagles Rolle referred to in the interview was his best game of the season. Rolle recorded a forced fumble, a sack, an interception, and a pass deflection in that 15-7 Giants win at Lincoln Financial Field.

However, Rolle might be forgetting Eagles current starting quarterback Nick Foles never saw the field in that week 8 game, as he was recovering from a concussion. Now New York Jet quarterback, Michael Vick, started that matchup against the Giants and when he got hurt in the second quarter, Vick was replaced by rookie quarterback Matt Barkley. Barkley had two turnovers and was sacked three times in that loss.
