Game In Philadelphia Forces Groups To Work Together To 'Escape The Room'

By John McDevitt

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - If you are among ten people locked inside a room, would you be able to work together to solve the clues and get out? That's what players of the "Escape The Room" game in Center City are trying to do within an hour.

You can choose "The Office" or "The Cavern" game. In "The Cavern" -- the door is locked behind you, then teammates explore the space looking for objects, piecing together clues and solve the puzzle to escape.

A 60-minute countdown time and additional clues are displayed on a TV monitor supplied by a staffer watching and listening to you from the control room.

Erica Bosso of Cherry Hill's team found their way out with 15 mutes to spare:

"You just have to rely on other people, including you and just bouncing ideas off each other. You can't keep it to yourself. If you keep it to yourself and try to solve it yourself, you'll never do it."

Mike Fortino is General Manager of "Escape The Room" Philly:

"It's interesting to see how the dynamics between people will change. You have people that will kind of second guess themselves, you'll see people not working together as well, so it's interesting to see that dynamic and it changes with every single game."
