WARMINSTER, Pa. (CBS) -- Authorities in Bucks County confirm they are investigating longtime Philadelphia sports broadcaster Don Tollefson over claims that he failed to provide tickets and travel packages to sporting events as promised.
Warminster police and the Bucks County district attorney's office say they are looking into a growing number of claims that Tollefson sold sports packages at charity events but never delivered the goods.
The allegations have Lou Berman a little concerned. He runs Louie's Voice, for families with children with autism, and says he bought a package from Tollefson at a silent auction with plans to resell it to provide Christmas presents for some severely autistic kids.
"It was just really a great value," Berman says, "two thousand dollars for an all-expense-paid trip to Pinehurst, North Carolina, for the US Open and access to all the VIP events that go along with it."
Tollefson reportedly is being treated at a rehab facility and plans to address the issues when he gets out.
Meanwhile, police say the investigation is still in the early stages and it would be premature to talk about the possibility of charges.
