Frankford Man To Stand Trial On Charges He Murdered His Brother

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - A 27-year-old man has been ordered to stand trial on charges he murdered his brother, for drug money, inside their home in Frankford last September.

Judge Patrick Dugan says it's worse than a Shakespearean tragedy, or a horror movie. Brother allegedly kills his defenseless brother for drugs.

Prosecutor Chesley Lightsey says Cody Osler confessed, "He wanted money. His brother wasn't giving it to him. While his brother was asleep on the couch, he took a hammer, hit him multiple times about the head, ultimately killing him and stole money, which he used to buy drugs and get high."

A homicide detective says Osler admitted he took $1,300 from his dead brother, bought and smoked crack, before calling his mother some time later to tell her Mark was dead.

In the statement, Olsen said he is bipolar, and his defense attorney, Bobby Hoof,  says Olsen, who is on a suicide watch in prison, is a very sick individual.
