Former PHL TSA Agent Sentenced To 11 Years For Child Porn Charges

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - A former TSA agent at Philadelphia International Airport will spend the next 11 years in prison after pleading guilty to child porn charges. Sentencing came Monday in federal court.

As a security screener, Thomas Gordon Jr. would be in close contact with flyers of all ages, including kids.

But Michael Levy, Assistant U.S. Attorney, says when the 46-year-old Philadelphia man was off the job, he was looking at and sharing pictures and videos the judge calls "horrific."

"He had images of sexual victimization of children," Levy described.

Images that added up to more than 600 on his home computer. The victims were as young as six.

Levy says Gordon admitted to sending out some of the images using Facebook and Photobucket.

"Those kinds of organizations are under a legal obligation to report what they find and they take their obligation seriously," Levy said.

In addition to his time behind bars, Gordon will be under supervised release for the rest of his life.
