Former Congressman Calls Iranian Nuclear Deal Treasonous

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - Former Florida Congressman Allen West spoke out against the Iranian nuclear agreement, questioning the patriotism of any Senator that votes for the deal.

West told Dom Giordano on Talk Radio 1210 WPHT that standing by this pact means you are un-American.

"Anybody that votes to support this Obama joint comprehensive plan of action, I'm going to be very blunt, they are a traitor to the United States of America."

He voiced his displeasure at clauses that allow the Iranians time after inspections are requested.

"This would be like, I'm a parent and with my kids I would say, okay you've got 24 days before I come an take a look at your room. Then, all of sudden, my kids say, hey dad, we just did our own negotiation. We're going to inspect our own room. And I say okay. This is absolutely imbecilic and this is what you have happening when you have very weak negotiations. Actually, it makes Neville Chamberlain look like Donald Trump."

West ultimately believes this will lead to an escalation of conflict.

"If you're a student of history and understand the agreement that Neville Chamberlain did with Adolf Hilter and he thought that there would be peace in our time and we would avert war, they brought forth war. Any time sheep do agreements with wolves, the wolves win."
