Firefighters vs. EMTs in Charity Softball Game in Bucks Co.

A charity softball game will take place this afternoon in Bensalem, Pa. for a good cause.

KYW's Michelle Durham reports the Philadelphia Fire Department's "Chiefs" softball team will take on the EMT teaching staff of Sanford Brown Institute.

Todd Vreeland, of SBI, says they're taking on the firefighters' team to benefit a local charity:

"It is to raise money for the Bucks County Hero Scholarship Fund, which provides scholarships for the children of police officers, firefighters, and EMS personnel who have died in the line of duty."

(Durham:)   "And you, unfortunately, had a loss in your EMS community this year."

(Vreeland:)  "Yeah, Danny Mac (McIntosh) died earlier this year. It takes a different kind of person to do this job."

The game takes place at 4:30pm this afternoon at Bensalem Township's Community Park, Richelieu and Galloway Roads.  Admission is $5, and proceeds from snack sales will also go to the Hero Scholarship Fund.
