Fans Ready As Eagles Open Season Against Falcons
By Greg Argos
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- The fountain at Love Park is dyed green for a different cause, but don't tell any Eagles' fans that. Throughout the city, Eagles pennants flap in the wind, and fans are covered in gear. Almost everyone seems excited about tonight's game against the Falcons, the first regular season game.
"What are you thinking about tonight's game?" asked CBS3 reporter Greg Argos.
"Win win win!" said 12-year-old Eagles fan Quadir Alford.
"'Win, win, win' is the running theme for tonight's first regular season game.
"I'm excited to see Sam Bradford. I just wanted to see the offense click, said fan OJ Spivey.
"It's going to be a big win. Bradford is going to kill it of course," said another fan.
Most fans we spoke with say they're expecting a win tonight, and are hoping for a powerful season, depending on quarterback Sam Bradford's health.
"He's an accurate passer, which works well with (coach Chip) Kelly's offense. So I'm expecting big things from him," said Shawn Denlein.
" A lot of folks area talking about a potential super bowl run," said Argos.
"I hope so. I'm not going to make that comment because I don't want to jinx it. But I hope so," said Vince Galasso, a lifelong fan.
Maybe Superbowl talk is premature, but fans just want to keep the momentum going until next week's game against the Cowboys.
"Let's just get this out of the way. Then we can play the real game," said one fan.
