FLORENCE, N.J. (AP) — Authorities say a former high school band instructor who had sexual contact with two female students has been sentenced to six years in state prison.

Burlington County prosecutors say 31-year-old Christian Reynolds, of Edgewater Park, will also forfeit his teaching certificate under the sentence imposed Friday and will have to register as a sex offender.

Reynolds had pleaded guilty in April to charges of sexual assault and obscenity toward a minor. He was arrested last August after authorities learned he had kissed and fondled a 17-year-old female at Florence Memorial High School and on the school's band bus on the way back from events.

A subsequent investigation determined Reynolds had a sexual relationship with a 16-year-old girl in 2009, while he was band instructor at Burlington City High School.
