Storylines to watch in Eagles-Titans
- The Eagles lost Pro Bowl left guard Landon Dickerson after Week 1's victory. He landed on injured reserve with a knee injury and said on WIP that he played "like s***" against Washington. So who will take Dickerson's place at left guard? Well, the Eagles haven't officially said who will start against Tennessee, but it could be Drew Kendall, a 2025 fifth-round pick out of Boston College. The Eagles could also decide to play Kendall at center and move Cam Jurgens to left guard. Fred Johnson also got reps at left guard in practice before Week 2. Regardless of who starts at left guard, the Birds will have a chance to get the ground game going with Saquon Barkley against the Titans.
- Titans defensive tackle Jeffery Simmons gave the Eagles bulletin board material heading into Week 2. Simmons told Titans reporters that their defense needs to "make Jalen Hurts be a QB" when asked about the Super Bowl LIX MVP. The Eagles didn't take the bait and downplayed Simmons' comments, but it won't be a surprise if this gives Hurts and Philadelphia's offense a little extra motivation.
- Safety Andrew Mukuba is questionable against the Titans and the only Eagles player with an injury designation for Week 2, but some key defensive players are banged up. Cornerback Cooper DeJean dealt with a calf/abdomen injury all week but practiced fully Friday. Defensive tackle Jalen Carter was a limited participant in Friday's practice with a right wrist injury and plans to play with a cast. The Eagles will be without Jonathan Greenard for a second straight week as he recovers from a pec strain that forced him to miss all of training camp.
- When the Eagles and Titans last played in the 2022 season, the Birds won as A.J. Brown scored two touchdowns against his former team. But that was at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia. Since the franchise moved from Houston to Tennessee, the Eagles have never won a game in Nashville. The Eagles lost to the Titans in 2002, 2010 and 2018 on the road. In the loss in 2018, the Eagles blew the lead in the fourth quarter and lost in overtime.
