PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- The Philadelphia Eagles are reportedly trying to trade cornerback Bryon Maxwell.

Report: Eagles To Trade DeMarco Murray To Titans

According to the NFL.com's Ian Rapoport, the Eagles and Miami Dolphins are discussing a potential trade for Maxwell.

Maxwell, 28, was signed to a six-year contract worth $63 million last offseason by Chip Kelly and the Eagles.

Maxwell has a $9.7 million cap hit in 2016 with $13.3 million in dead money, if cut, according to Spotrac.com. However, the Eagles -- or a team that acquires him via trade -- could save significant money if they chose to release Maxwell after the 2016 season.

Update (3pm): Eagles looking to trade Kiko Alonso, along with Maxwell
