Eagles Confirm Interview With Chiefs' Doug Pederson

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- The Eagles confirmed that they interviewed Chiefs offensive coordinator Doug Pederson for their head coaching vacancy on Sunday. Pederson has served under Chiefs head coach, and former Eagles head coach, Andy Reid for the past three seasons.

Prior to working with the Chiefs, Pederson was a member of the Eagles coaching staff under Reid since 2009. He served as an Eagles quality control coach until 2010 and served as the Quarterbacks Coach until 2012.

Pederson played professionally as an NFL quarterback from 1993-2004. He played for the Eagles in 1999 and served as the team's starter until Donovan McNabb was ready to assume the role for Reid and the Birds.

Kansas City finished 9th in the league in 2015 in points per game during the regular season (25.3).

On Saturday, the Chiefs won their first playoff game in 22 years as they defeated the Texans, 30-0. The team now prepares to take on the Patriots next weekend.
