Driver Turns Herself In To Authorities In Deadly Hit-Run In Olney

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Police say a 23-year-old woman involved in a deadly hit-and-run accident has turned herself in to authorities.

It happened just after 3:00 Saturday at the intersection of Rising Sun Avenue and Fisher Street in Olney.

Police say 42-year-old Victor Ortiz staggered into the southbound lane of Rising Sun Avenue where he was struck by car that kept going. The impact knocked Ortiz into the northbound lane where he was struck by another car and was trapped under the vehicle. That driver stayed at the scene and is not facing charges.

Ortiz was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police say the woman who was allegedly driving the vehicle that fled the scene turned herself in to authorities late Saturday afternoon.

Charges against the woman are pending.

The investigation is ongoing.
