Delaware Valley Braces for More Scorchers
KYW Newsradio Team Coverage:
It's warm and muggy out there, and conditions are only going to get more oppressive as we head into the weekend.
KYW's Paul Kurtz reports that it's been a busy summer for county health departments around the Delaware Valley, and things are about to heat up again.
With the constant refrain of "hazy, hot, and humid" from forecasters and with the temperature expected to reach triple digits on Saturday, health officials are once warning people to take precautions.

Julie Marsden is with the Montgomery County Health Department:
"We've issued a 'code red' to the community, which basically just gives them some awareness that the heat is going to be extreme. And we just try to get some helpful tips out there on how they can alleviate the effects of the hot weather."
Those at greatest risk for heat-related illness include infants, children up to four years of age, and aged people who are ill and taking certain medications.
Heat stroke symptoms include a body temperature above 103° F; red, hot, and dry skin; a rapid heartbeat; headache; dizziness; nausea; confusion; or unconsciousness.
KYW's Mike DeNardo spoke with some folks in Philadelphia to find out how they're coping as the mercury spikes well into the 90s on Friday and up to 99° on Saturday.
Clarissa from Williamstown, Pa. had a simple solution:
"I'm going to stay home tomorrow and not come out the front door at all. I will be indoors, drinking iced tea. Homemade and brewed. And I'm going to sit there and relax."
Clarissa says there's no significance to that 100-degree mark. She says once you get above 90, it's all hot to her.
