Crews Suspend Search For Missing Fisherman In Ocean County
LITTLE EGG HARBOR, NJ (CBS) -- New Jersey State Police, the Coast Guard and the Tuckerton Fire Department searched for a missing man who was on a fishing boat that reportedly ran aground on Thursday night. Officials announced on Friday evening that they were calling off the search.
Authorities identified the missing man as Christopher Hugg, 45, of Tuckerton N.J. Chopper 3 was over the scene of the search taking place off the coast of Little Egg Harbor, New Jersey.
Authorities say Hugg last made contact with a family member around 8 p.m. Thursday saying his boat had run aground but he did not require assistance.
The man's boat was reportedly found containing fishing gear on Hither Island on Friday.
Aviation and water surface searches took place on Friday.
