Corbett Meets Investigator Examining His Handling Of Sandusky Scandal

By Tony Romeo

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Governor Corbett has met with the man hired by the attorney general to probe why Corbett's investigation of Jerry Sandusky took as long as it did.

Attorney General Kathleen Kane campaigned on a pledge to investigate the length of the Sandusky probe, but she's been in office for 16 months and that investigation is still ongoing.

The governor was the attorney general when that office began investigating Sandusky.

Corbett's communications director confirms that the governor has now met with the former federal prosecutor appointed by Kane to investigate Corbett's handling of the Sandusky case, but she could not provide details of what was discussed.

A spokesman for the attorney general would not comment and also declined to discuss when the probe of the Sandusky matter might be completed, except to say that will happen when the report is fully complete and legal requirements for its release have been met.
