Chester County Officials Ask For Halt On Mariner East Pipeline Operations Due To Multiple Sinkholes
CHESTER COUNTY, Pa. (CBS) -- Chester County commissioners have asked for a halt to operations on two Mariner East pipelines while they figure out the cause of multiple sinkholes. At least seven sinkholes have been caused by construction near the pipelines in 2021.
One was caught on camera swallowing a tree.
The county commissioners have asked for the pipelines to cease operations while an investigation determines any threat to public safety.
