Buika To Perform At The Kimmel
The term unique sort of loses its luster when used loosely, but for soulful singer Buika it truly applies:
"It's not like anything I've ever heard."
Radio Report:
KYW's Mike Dougherty reports Matt Wolf, Vice President of Programming for the Kimmel Center, says he can't wait for Buika's Philadelphia debut on October 26th:
"She's a very, very exciting vocalist. She was named one of the top 50 great voices by NPR."
Wolf struggled to put a label on her music because there are just so many different influences in play for this African born, Spanish-raised singer:
"It's a great mix of jazz, funk, flamenco, copla and new soul."
