DOYLESTOWN, Pa. (CBS) --  The idea started when Hannah Sexton broke her foot.

She was in the middle of a heptathlon competing nationally and was sidelined by the injury.

Her mom Kathi gave Hannah one week to mourn and an ultimatum about the abundance of clothes in her room.

Kathi suggested a clothing exchange with her friends.

But Hannah said they all had too much stuff, so the C.B. West junior sent out a group text to all her friends and asked for clothing donations.

And at the beginning of the school year, she set up a pop-up clothing boutique for girls her age at a local women's shelter.

She opened another during Christmas break.

"Sometimes girls that come in are a little timid and they didn't know what to do, so I'm like, 'oh well this goes well with this,'" Hannah told Eyewitness News.

And not all of the clothing is coming from Hannah's closet.

In fact, some of it is coming from the Nova Thrift Shop in Fountainsville, where Hannah has been a volunteer for more than five years.

Hannah hopes to open the shop again before the next school year, so she can offer teenagers some good old-fashioned confidence.

"If they have the confidence going into a new school with a new outfit, it may you know, may make or break their future," she explained.
