PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- This is why the NFL Draft is so intriguing.

The Cleveland Browns have signed Robert Griffin III, reportedly a two-year deal worth $15 million ($6.75M guaranteed).

This is particularly interesting to Eagles fans because this news comes just one day after an NFL executive reportedly believes Philadelphia is interested in moving up the draft board for top QB prospect Carson Wentz.

"Don't be surprised if a team like the Eagles makes a really strong move up the board to get (Carson) Wentz," the executive told NFL.com.

With the Browns in desperate need of a quarterback selecting at No. 2 overall, Cleveland was expected to be the most likely landing spot for Wentz.

"Everyone thinks you have to move ahead of Cleveland, but (Browns Chief Strategy Officer Paul DePodesta) will want to get as many picks as possible out of this draft," the NFL executive said. "It wouldn't surprise me if a team moved directly to Cleveland's spot for Wentz."

Now, with the Browns signing the former Heisman Trophy winner out of Baylor, the Eagles-Wentz report makes even more sense. While the Browns could certainly still draft Wentz, adding a talented quarterback like RG3 --- at the very least --- creates some doubt.

Schefter reports, however, that the Browns are still expected to select a quarterback at pick No. 2.

The Eagles have already signed quarterbacks Sam Bradford and Chase Daniel to deals totaling $36 million guaranteed this offseason, but $5.5 million of Bradford's guaranteed 2016 money is reportedly not owed to him until September 1st, fueling trade speculation.

Wentz, a 6-5, 230 pound mobile quarterback from North Dakota State, has incredible athleticism and has drawn comparisons to Doug Pederson's last quarterback, Kansas City Chiefs start Alex Smith.

Furthermore, the RG3 news comes at the conclusion of Wentz's Pro Day on Thursday.
