Philadelphia Police Officer Hospitalized After Being Struck By Car In Center City

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- A Philadelphia police officer has been struck by a car and injured in Center City.
The 40-year-old female bicycle officer was struck by a car while on patrol at the intersection of 13th and Market Streets shortly after 5 p.m. Tuesday.
According to reports, the officer was traveling westbound on Market when she was hit from behind by a gray Mercedes Benz and thrown from her bike.
The officer was conscious and complaining of leg pain as she was taken to Jefferson University Hospital.
Her condition was not immediately available.
The driver of the vehicle did stop and was being questioned by police on the scene.
