BLOG: Free Money Workshops For Women

By Jim Donovan: Wouldn't it be nice if you could begin to take control of your money and start planning for a brighter financial future—all during your lunch break? Well, it's your lucky summer. Next week, Consumer Credit Counseling Service of Delaware Valley (CCCS) and its FinanciallyHers program will launch their summer Working Women series.

Over the course of four weeks, three workshops will be offered—Unlocking the Mystery: The Why Behind the Buy (7/12), How to Run Your Household Like a Business (7/19, 7/26), and Raising Money-Savvy Kids (8/2). The classes will be held at CCCS' main office on Walnut Street during the lunch hour from 12:15pm to 1:00pm and are free to anyone who registers.

Unlocking the Mystery: The Why Behind the Buy takes a look at the psychological reasons why people spend the money they do.

How to Run Your Household Like a Business is a program that focuses on smarter budgeting to meet one's financial goals.

Raising Money-Savvy Kids is the third class offered in the Working Women series. According to a recent survey by the National Foundation for Credit Counseling (NFCC), forty-two percent of respondents learned the most about money from their parents. Knowing that, it's important that families be ready to educate their children and get them off to a strong financial start.

The workshops will be held at:

1608 Walnut Street, 10th Floor, Philadelphia, PA 19103

Light refreshments will be provided. Any questions about the Working Women series can be directed to Joy McManus, at jmcmanus@cccsdv.org or (215) 840-6776.
