BLOG: Free Lead Testing In NJ This Friday

By Jim Donovan: Lead poisoning continues to pose a big health hazard to children, particularly those under the age of 6. In an effort to prevent lead poisoning the Burlington County Health Department is holding a free lead testing event later this week.

The testing will take place this Friday, October 28, 2011 from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Burlington County Health Department office at 15 Pioneer Blvd in Westhampton, NJ.

Testing will be limited to 5 items per household. Some common sources of lead include old chipping paint, imported toys and jewelry, imported chalk and crayons, imported ceramics, even soil.
