Bird's-Eye Yearbook Photo To Be High Point of a Tough Year For Penn Wood H.S. Seniors

YEADON, Pa. (CBS) -- High school students in the William Penn School District, in Delaware County, have been through a tough time since an arson fire took out one of their two main buildings (see related story).
So, officials at Penn Wood High decided to organize something special for the senior class: a group photo taken from on high.
The yearbook photographer had to get into a cherry picker to get just the right shot of the more than 350 members of the Class of '13, gathered on Kerr Field in the shape of the number 13.
Among them was Gabriella Young (photo), who concedes that the last few weeks have been tough, between the fire (related story), the bomb threats, split-shift classes (related story), and just getting ready to graduate.
"This is a good way to feel like we're as one," she said today. "We're going through this together as a class. It's a way for us to compose ourselves as a class and get over what happened, and stay together."
The kids all wore blue t-shirts bearing the words "Penn Wood, Strong-United." The shirts were provided by the district but paid for by donations.
