Big Turnout on Dilworth Plaza for Civic Engagement Expo
Hundreds of people turned out on Dilworth Plaza Wednesday for the city's annual Civic Engagement Expo.

KYW's Karin Phillips reports that over 100 organizations were presented at booths surrounding Dilworth Plaza for the second annual Civic Engagement Expo, as passersby picked up material and talked about volunteering or signed up.
Videssa (in photo above) of Southwest Philadelphia was there to sign up:
"Since I've gotten well with my diabetes and arthritis, I'm able to come out of the house more often."
The annual event is the city's recognition of the September 11th National Day of Service and Remembrance. Mayor Michael Nutter announced the opening of the Mayor's office of Civic Engagement and Volunteer Service, to be led by the City's chief service officer, Catie Wolfgang:
"My role is to be a connector, among organizations to make it easy. There's no shortage of Philadelphians who have the heart and the interest and the passion to volunteer."
