Betting Trends: Eagles +3 At Panthers

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- The Philadelphia Eagles have gotten back to .500 after two straight wins, and sit atop the struggling NFC East at 3-3. While it has been a roller coaster type of a season for the Eagles so far, the 5-0 Carolina Panthers have been smooth sailing.

The Panthers came from behind to beat the Seattle Seahawks last week, in large part to the clutch play of quarterback Cam Newton. Newton, despite limited pass-catching weapons, has eight touchdowns and just four turnovers this season, throwing for 1,078 yards and running for 225 more.

Both the Eagles and Panthers have played stellar defense, as they rank 7th (18.3) and 8th (18.8) in points allowed per game, respectively.

Our friends at SportsBookReview.com have the Eagles as three-point underdogs on Sunday night in Carolina, with an over/under hovering around 46.
