Authorities Arrest Suspect In McDonald's Drive-Thru Shooting In Norristown
NORRISTOWN, Pa. (CBS/AP) — Police have arrested a suspect accused of shooting and killing a man in the drive-thru lane of a McDonalds in Norristown, Pennsylvania.
Officials say 22-year-old Jonathan Walker is reportedly responsible for killing 24-year-old Marquis Johnson of Coatesville.
It happened shortly after 11:30 p.m. Tuesday.
A joint investigation by the Norristown Police and Montgomery County Detectives revealed that Johnson and Walker were having a verbal altercation inside of the BP Gas Station, near the restaurant where Johnson was killed.
Moments after the two men left the gas station, police say 11 shots were fired.
Witnesses told police the victim was running for his life from two people when he was shot as he reached the restaurant's outside message board.
Police found Johnson lying in the drive-thru lane outside the restaurant. He had gunshot wounds to the torso and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Walker was charged with first degree murder, third degree murder and other related charges.
He is being held in the Montgomery County Correctional Facility without bail. A preliminary hearing is set to take place June 23rd.
