Atlantic City Police: Reported Missing Child Located Safe

ATLANTIC CITY, N.J., (CBS) –  Atlantic City Police say a two-year-old child reported missing Thursday has been located safe.

At 4:03 p.m. Thursday, police say officers responded to Arkansas Avenue and Atlantic Avenue for a female who allegedly stated her daughter was taken by the child's father.

According to police, upon interviewing the mother the investigation revealed that the child was not in danger and was with her father.

Police say the Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office was notified and no Amber Alert was issued.

Police say the investigation by Atlantic City Police Criminal Investigation Unit determined this incident was not a child abduction.

According to police, the child has been located safe and the father has spoken with officials at the Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office.

There are no criminal complaints.
