Analysis: Pa. Primary Loses Luster, But Still Competitive
By Larry Kane
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - Just a few weeks ago, the Pennsylvania Primary was a crucial date on the political calendar -- not any more.
With the Republican presidential nomination rather securely in Mitt Romney's hands, voter turnout is expected to be low, today.
But, there are statewide races that are very competitive.
For the Democrats, former Congressman Patrick Murphy faces off against Kathleen Kane of Lackawanna County for the Attorney General nomination.

For the Republicans, it's a five-way race for a chance to unseat Democratic Senator Bob Casey in November. Steve Welch is endorsed by the party, while Tom Smith from the west has spent a small fortune and has a high profile. But, Berks candidate Sam Rohrer is well known.
The two other candidates are Mark Scaringi and David Christian.
He's not on the ballot, but Governor Corbett and the state committee have their power on the line with their endorsement of Welch.
Much in all races depends on turnout, which could be light considering the lack of competition in the presidential primary.
