73-Year-Old Man Struck And Killed While Crossing Street In Northeast Philadelphia
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- An elderly man was struck and killed while crossing the street in Saturday night in Northeast Philadelphia.
It happened around 6:30 p.m. at the intersection of Byberry and Proctor Roads in the Somerton section of the city.
Police say a 73-year-old man was crossing the road toward the Shalom Apartments were he lived when he was struck by a dark blue 2007 Honda Odyssey traveling eastbound on Byberry Road Authorities say that vehicle then hit another car that was traveling westbound.
The victim was taken to Aria Torresdale Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
The drivers of both vehicles remained on scene.
