2008 Murder of Coatesville Couple Still Unsolved Despite $10,000 Reward

By Brad Segall

COATESVILLE, Pa. (CBS) -- This weekend marks the five-year anniversary of the execution-style murders of a young couple inside a Chester County home.

Authorities say they are hoping that reward money will help move the case along.

Police say that during the early morning hours of July 6, 2008, 24-year-old Carnell Parker and 21-year-old Shontae Peterson were gunned down inside a house in the 200 block of Charles Street in Coatesville.

The pair had been dating for about a year.

The crime has gone unsolved, and authorities are hoping a $10,000 reward will jog someone's memory.

Chester County first assistant DA Michael Noone says the investigation has never stopped.

"The Coatesville city police department along with the Chester County detectives have continued to pursue every lead over the past five years," he said today, "and we will not stop until those who are responsible for this senseless and violent murder are brought to justice."

Both victims were found lying face down in the dining room of Parker's house.  Police say there was evidence of forced entry in the rear of the home. There were others in the house but they were not harmed.

Anyone with information should call the Citizens Crime Commission at 215-546-TIPS.  Information can be submitted and the reward obtained anonymously.
