2 Women In Custody After Alleged Assault At Melrose Diner
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Two women are in police custody after police say they assaulted a person and threatened others at Melrose Diner over the weekend.
According to officials, police responded to a call around 7:20 p.m. Sunday for a report of a person with a weapon at Melrose Diner on Snyder Avenue.
Arriving officers were met by a 50-year-old female employee who told authorities that two unknown white females, who police identified to be 30 and 37 years of age, were highly intoxicated and grabbed the complainant. One of the women then ran into the kitchen and yelled, "I'm going to stab everyone."
The employee also told police that the women refused to leave the diner. The pair later fled when police arrived to the scene but were stopped by responding officers. They were taken into custody without issue.
Police say no weapon was involved in this incident.
As of now no charges have been filed.
