Montco Rowhome Fire Displaces 5 Families

NORRISTOWN, Pa., (CBS) — A fire ripped through several rowhomes in Norristown, Montgomery County Sunday afternoon, displacing a total of five families.

The blaze began just before 1 p.m. at one of the homes on the 800 block of Kohn Street.

The fire started in the backyard during a cookout, then spread to a total of eight homes.

Pilar Gomez watched in shock as her home was one of three that were totally destroyed.

"I can't believe it, my house, it lost everything," she tells CBS 3 Eyewitness News.

Crews placed the fire under control by 3 p.m. Amazingly, no injuries were reported.

The Red Cross says they are assisting 17 people total, including six children.
